I love how I can come to this site once a month and read every post that's been made in that time: the entire contents of this one thread, completely dominated by two users, one of which may be site staff.

On the one hand, there's encouragement to post (more gum points which helps developers) but on the other there's (apparently) nothing to talk about, or if there is, there's no one that wants to.

I vote for myself as dictator for life.

Just to clarify, SilverGum has no relation to the GameGum staff, other than that he chose to use "Gum" in his name.

We are a small community that if for sure, but we also are very sustainable. We get a good amount of submissions each day, have a small but active group of people posting, and while other gaming sites may be pushing out features and spamming with ads we will always keep our simplicity and focus on games.

Especially with the financial times we are facing, I feel happy knowing this site is self-sustaining and very much future-proof.

We still do have a cool new version in the works, but it is a monumental update that will take a long time considering our small/busy staff :).

Small sites don't make it in the long run, they really don't. You need to have users who will come each and every day.

I never see these "new uploads" because the "featured" list is dominated by the same 6 or so games as when I first joined the site. Sure, I could hit the games list which shows me the 16 most recent uploads, but I can't see farther back than that and freaking NO ONE rates games on this site, so I have no idea of each submission's quality before playing (I've gotten to the point at which I know 90% of everything is crap and don't bother with it unless someone else has confirmed that it isn't). Every other game is sorted by genre then alphabetically. Sure, great way to find a game you know the name of, but terrible for finding good games that aren't in the Top 15 (by the way, all 15 of the highest rated for the month have a single rating on them).
