You can make a living by producing Flash games, but the sponsorship model is kinda tricky, if you're a game developer who's trying to pay the bills. Typically, most sponsors will want their sponsorship to be exclusive, so it's hard to sell multiple licenses that way. If you're trying to make a living producing Flash games, your best bet (imo) is to get some clients like Nickelodeon, who have deep pockets and a consistent demand for Flash games. For indie developers, like myself, it's harder to compete with the big boys (considering they have bigger toolkits and more experience), so making Flash games and sponsoring them is a good way to get recognized, and gain some valuable experience (and money).

I'm guessing you probably can. But I have to say that its a bad idea. It's a very uncertain income, and you have to have a lot of good ideas.

On the other hand, it is a good way to make money if you do this in your free time. I have had 6 games sponsored (out of 8), and I'v gotten around 20$ per hour, if you cont the time I spent. Now, being that I'm still 15, and that I enjoy making the games, it's a nice deal.

But again; I wouldn't consider making a living out of it. Not only would it probably fail and leave you hanging, but it is quite possible that you would lose most of your interest toward making games.

Unless you work for a large flash firm, and do it as a full time job.
