The forums specifies that the avatar image must be 48x48 pixels. But most Avatar images available on the net are 96x96 pixels. Is it possible for you to increase the size of the supported image size? I don't think it will make a difference in the display...

I will check this, I change the option fairly easily from the control panel, but I will check to see how it will affect the site first.

Thanks for the recommendation

Nah, just leave it 48x48. Now that we all have avatars that size.

I actually like the smaller avatars better, I think.  Less chance of them becoming distracting and/or annoying, hehe.

well even if he changed the size that you are allowed to upload it would probably still display 48 by 48, and will look nice with any size image as long as its square. what'd you think gizzy prophet #1..

It is very easy to get a program that will shrink an avatar to the right size. 80x80 is probably the most common size I have seen, but I like the smaller ones here. Gives some character.

Post up your bigger image and I am sure myself or someone else can properly shrink it for you.

Yeah. The small size just gets them out of the way and make them not too distracting.

When I have uploaded my avatar I have used an normal picture, i.e. i did not modify any size and it was automatically resized to fit the avatar size; So don t worry just use what you want and then see if the avatar pictures appears correct.

i think 48x48 is better...doesn't get in the way quite so much.  and gamegum shrinks the avatars anyway, i think they look fine.
