apollo Posts: 24 GumPoints: 51	I was just wondering how long you guys have been using flash? And how long did it take you to learn? Were your first few projects terrible? Right now I'm a complete novice, but I want to learn. I'm mainly wanting to use it for short and simple things. I don't plan on creating a game or toon any time soon.

Skuld Posts: 851 GumPoints: 5,402	Approaching one year. I learned quickly to do the basic stuff, but I haven't progressed much toward the professional super-cool kind of animation and coding. Hope to get there one day. Consider myself a "regular" flash animator. Not novice, not advanced, and not one of those egotistical idiots who make loads of cruddy animations and say "I'm coolz cuz ive madez lotz of animz!".

proph3t Posts: 213 GumPoints: 1,710	Only used it for basic stuff, simple animations and simple interactions mostly dealing with website related things. A long while back I tried to create some stick figure animations but gave up on it eventually. Nonetheless, I need to brush up on actionscripting to help out with the API work .

Very nice :) (A highscore sytem that awards gumpoints for highscores would be nice nudge nudge) If you want / need, I can try my best to help!

IndieFlashArcade Posts: 14 GumPoints: 109	Indeed, Flash is awesome. With the release of CS3, I can only see it getting more and more popular, and more powerful. Definitely a good thing to know if you plan on making Web games, or any kind of multimedia content :)
