So bumping old threads is a crime? I figure if the thread wasn't to be posted in, it would be locked, right? Honestly, I haven't even been paying attention to my gumpoints.

It isn't a crime, but it gets annoying when scores of dorment threads suddenly are active again.

And I am afraid that proph3t hasn't made a thread-locking feature for this forum yet.

Well I also have MX, I havent gotten around to getting Flash 8, so I like it fine. I mean yeah eventually you wont be able to use it, but I think you have a little bit of time before that day comes. If I were you I would stick to the program I was confortable with untill I couldn't use it anymore.

I didn't find much difference between MX and 8 other than a new prettier design. Seemed to me that it pretty much worked the same way. Of course, I am more of an animator than coder, and started coding in 8, so I'm not sure about the AS side of things.

Flash 8 introduced a lot of good things for coders, such as the ability to use dynamic filters (blur, glow, etc.), and also the Bitmap Object. As far as sticking to the program you're comfotable with until the absulte point you can't even use it anymore, that seems kinda silly, although personally, I will be using Flash 8 for a little while longer before I try to pick up CS3...
