Improving GameGum

We have been going through lately and working on lots of backend stuff which has been why there has been a lack of updates compared to our usually frantic pace of updating, but you faithful users should now start seeing general improvements continuing again. See, two weeks ago after we had gotten settled in with version 3 we looked at the engine and general state of GameGum and asked ourselves what we could do to improve it as a whole.
A few things popped up that we deemed important enough that we decided to take a break from the feature updates to work on, and those were:
- Clean, Stabilize, Sort, Secure, and Standardize the "engine".
- Clean and Standardize the user interface of GameGum.
While some of those verbs may be redundant, the general idea was to stop where we were and get everything functioning well before moving on with new stuff. So, with that in mind we are going to slowly mulling over the site and polishing it up.
One of the first things we worked on was the forgotten password retrieval process, but that is so mundane we skipped writing a news post about it. Our next task was comment editing which worked pretty well in general, but needed some polish and a slight rethinking. This is reflected in a slight update that we just made live.
We hope to continue the polishing for a few more weeks hitting some major areas such as the individual game pages and even larger work to come in cleaning the backend, keep an eye out.
