Improved Today: Search, Games, Editing Games

By proph3t Mar 1, 2006 · 0 Comments

Our work today on the "improvement" phase as we mentioned yesterday went quite well. Today we went over the search page and the game edit/submit pages to ensure that they were running smoothly and found quite a few bugs to fix.

Searching was most drastically changed so we will talk about it first. As you can see there's a new search bar at the top of the page which allows searching of news. This was possible before but the search results were actually included with games, now you can search them separately. There were also a few bug fixed that related to search results as well as inputting odd characters (which work now). We plan to extend this to include searching users soon, but we are pleased with how it is functioning now.

The game pages received a minor update with more to follow. Less intrusive ads, first off. We moved the game to display above the description after a couple suggestions and just because we liked it better as well. A couple other things were fixed up, and we realized that comments had been broken due to a small mistype which is now fixed. So, comment away!

Editing and submitting games were mostly clean of bugs, but the editing page now allows you to edit the width and height and had a couple bugs fixed. The submit page has been simplified a bit as well.

As always, keep posted as we continue our way through the site cleaning and polishing everything.
