Friends and Friend Tracking

The final large feature being implemented into version four has begun development and is already making fast progress, and that is: friends. You are now able to mark any user as a friend. Now, this is cool in itself and all, but we aren't trying to build another MySpace and so we have some great features being worked on to accompany your friendships.
Once logged in, you will have a "Friends" page that updates with information relevant to your friends. This page displays information regarding everything your friends have recently done, from comments all the way to submissions. The friends page also lets you easily manage your friends, allowing for quick viewing and deletion.
While surfing the site you may run into friends as well. Friends will always be marked as such, so if you are browsing a forum thread you can easily spot your friends' posts. This makes it easy for friends to stay in touch with each other and follow each others' activities around the site.
Beyond that we have more interesting features planned which will involve friends. We are considering integrating them with GumPoints as well as other functions in the site and as decisions are made and development progresses I will keep you posted.
