New Feature Refresh

Another feature update is complete and live as of now. As written about earlier, we had been working on a few exciting things including "Pulse", new profiles, and a slide-out menu for logged in users. Not to mention, there have been over 40 bugfixes since our last update that coincided with the launch of ToonGum. This post will cover the finer points of the new features.
Pulse
A new way to keep track of everything happening on the site. The Pulse tracks a limited scope of events which include submissions, comments, and forum activity so as to provide a good mix of privacy and yet maintain a fairly accurate measure of whats happening around the site. Check it out on the Pulse page, but also on each user's profile page with a wider scope that includes game ratings.
Here's a screenshot showing both the Pulse and the new user slideout menu:

Top Users
New on the homepage is the "Top Users" box. This area is meant to give our valued users some recognition for their contributions to the community. Top Recently displays users who have registered in the past couple months, while All Time includes all users ever registered.
Profiles and Control Panels
Both profiles and the user control panel have been updated and include the new Pulse feature and a visually refreshed layout. The profile and control panel's new layout that has been redone for clarity and ease of use. Make sure and look for the new menu across the top of the profiles that makes it incredibly easy to contact and view information on users. These pages were a major focus of our refresh and we feel they reflect the new focus of the site very well.
User Menu SlideOut
One of the cooler new additions, this slideout panel is a one-stop place for logged in users. It includes an overview of your name, icon, and gumpoints as well as selectors for favorites and submissions. Finally, it has a selection of links that help you navigate through the control panel and to your profile easily.
Bugfixes
Many bugfixes were focused around getting ToonGum fully independent from GameGum. We have fixed a few problems relating to submissions, the control panel, and various pages that still had references to GameGum that were confusing. We also polished the registration process, ironing out any points of confusion that existed previously. Other bugfixes include IE6 stylesheet fixes, fixes for most AJAX functions around the site (adding friends, comments, etc), and many fixes that come with the new profile and control panel pages.
We encourage you all to check out the updates and give us a shout in the forum if anything breaks, we hope to continue this ultra-fast release schedule into the future and your feedback allows us to ensure we are moving in the right direction.

OK then... it just isn't very aesthetic in my opinion.

AuthorThe black isn't meant to match with the rest of the site but rather reflect the type of menu it is, so no not really. But I will take this into consideration.

Shouldn't the user menu slideout on Toongum be blue not black?
